Official launch of the Sands Arts & Community Centre

On March 11, we held a party at the Sands End Arts & Community Centre to declare the centre open for business officially and to thank all those who helped get us there. Hammersmith & Fulham Council Leader Stephen Cowan did the honours, along with speeches from Andy Mitchell, CEO of Tideway (which part-funded the building), Cllr Ben Coleman (chair of the SEACC board of trustees) and trustee Timothy Prager.

Mary and Sandra laid on a veritable feast in the café area and we want to give them special thanks for helping to make the day go so well, along with interim Centre Manager Christopher Newport and interim Duty Manager Vannessa Lock.

It was so good to see so many familiar faces from over the past couple of years; from the architects and engineers to council officers and local community groups who already use the centre.

At the party, we also announced that the website was live and also revealed a timeline display, which is on the wall in the main entrance.

Again, a big thank you to everyone who attended this special day.

Annual Charity Fundraiser 2025 Success!

We’re absolutely delighted to share that our annual fundraising event, Music, Magic & Mayhem, was a great success – raising over £5,000 for Sands End Arts & Community Centre!

We couldn’t have done it without the incredible generosity of our community, everyone who bought tickets, participated in the Silent Auction, took part in the raffle, and played along in our week of fundraising games and activities. Thank you.

The evening of Music, Magic & Mayhem began with beautiful sounds of piano by Elia Do Mar, who aims to captivate the “true sound of jazz”.  After some cheerful community mingling, guests  sat down to enjoy a delicious hot meal followed by a line-up of surprise performances. From contortionists showcasing extraordinary flexibility, to brave sword swallowers, and glamorous drag queens, the performances left the audience both amazed and thoroughly entertained. We were also treated to comedians making humorous singing debuts and wholesome artists spreading joy through music, creating an atmosphere of laughter, wonder, and togetherness throughout the night.

In a short video message, our Chair of Trustees, Timothy Paul Prager, shared that over 180,000 people have walked through the doors of SEACC  taking part in our classes, workshops, and events. It’s a powerful reminder of the impact and reach our centre has within the community. Watch video.

This year, we hosted a full week of fundraising events and activities, with prizes ranging from café vouchers to luxurious hamper baskets. A huge thank you to everyone who took part — and congratulations to all our winners! Your support and enthusiasm helped make the week a fantastic success.

We would like to thank our Silent Auction prize donors:
