Faces of Fulham – Celebrating Young People Through Film and Photography

Thanks to support from the LBHF King’s Coronation Youth Fund,  SEACC has been delivering Faces of Fulham, an exciting film and photography project for young people across Fulham throughout the spring and summer terms.

The project has been designed to give young people the opportunity to explore their creativity, develop practical film and photography skills, and tell the stories of their local community through a creative lens.

Working with professional artists Cinzia D’Ambrosia and Duncan Roy, participants have been building confidence, working collaboratively, and progressing towards their Arts Award qualifications.

Since January, the project has been active across multiple community settings and schools. We have successfully delivered workshops in three local schools: Sir John Lillie Primary School, Sulivan Primary School, and Hurlingham Secondary School. The success of this work has already led to confirmation of a further round of funding for the next academic year, allowing us to continue expanding the programme and reaching even more young people.

During the Easter holidays, we delivered two weeks of workshops with MENCAP, creating an inclusive and accessible space for young people to experiment with photography and film, develop new skills, and express themselves creatively. We will return in the May half term to create a third and final film with the group and can’t wait to share the outcomes later in the year.

We have also been running weekly sessions since January with SEAPIA, where participants have been documenting local life and exploring portrait photography. A particular highlight was a special visit to Craven Cottage, where the group had the opportunity to photograph some of the people working behind the scenes at Fulham Football Club, capturing the often-unseen faces that help make the club run every day.

Alongside this, weekly on-site sessions at SEACC continue with a dedicated group of young people working closely with our lead artists. These sessions are supporting participants as they build portfolios, create original work, and work towards completing their Arts Award qualifications.

Faces of Fulham continues throughout this term and will culminate in a public exhibition and screening this July.

The Faces of Fulham Exhibition will be open at SEACC from 10th–19th July, showcasing the photography and film work created by participants across the project. We will also host a special celebration event on 10th July, where everyone is warmly invited to come together and celebrate the achievements of the young people involved.

A special film screening will take place at Riverside Studios Cinema on 16th July, giving participants the chance to see their work presented on the big screen and share their stories with the wider community.

Faces of Fulham is about creativity, confidence, and community – celebrating the voices, experiences, and perspectives of young people across Fulham. We are incredibly proud of everything achieved so far and look forward to sharing the final exhibition with everyone this summer.
